Premier League MW 3
Tottenham vs. Wolverhampton
Fourth placed Spurs drew last weekend thanks to Anthony Taylor and now welcome Wolves who sit 14th in the table without a win. Wolves have recently signed Matheus Nunes who is a midfielder from Sporting Lisbon and had been on the watchlist of several top teams. Nunes is a box to box midfielder and together with Neves Wolves could dominate several teams. Tottenham were stifled by Chelsea last weekend and were lucky to leave Stamford Bridge with a point. Romero is also injured and the universe works in funny ways. This could be a tough game for them and early kick-offs are always tough. Wolves could manage something.
Everton vs. Nottingham Forest
18th placed Everton have lost their first two games and Lampard while not having his squad is under a little pressure to get some points. Up front the Toffees look depleted and with Chelsea chasing Anthony Gordon it won’t help their cause if he ends up leaving. Forest sit 10th in the table and won last weekend. They have signed some more players and Steve Cooper will feel he can get something at Goodison Park. Pressure on Everton, it will be a tough game but the result can go either way.
Leicester vs. Southampton
15th placed Leicester are yet to win as they take on 17th placed Southampton who are also yet to win. Both teams have had poor starts and Fofana at Leicester is another player who’s head has been turned by Chelsea. Pressure on Rodgers and Hassenhutl to get a result and both teams are far from convincing. This could be an interesting game.
Fulham vs. Brentford
13th placed Fulham are yet to lose as they take on third placed Brentford who are also yet to lose and thrashed Manchester United 4-0 last weekend. This should be a fun London Derby and I expect on of these teams unbeaten records to end at full time.
Crystal Palace vs. Aston Villa
16th placed Palace played really well to draw against Liverpool as they welcome ninth placed Villa who beat Everton last weekend. This will be a tougher game for Gerrard and both teams are expected be challenging for a top ten finish this season. Vieira is doing really well at Palace and this will be another good test for his team. An exciting game and the result could go either way.
Bournemouth vs. Arsenal
11th placed Bournemouth lost last weekend to Manchester City and they face another tough test against Arsenal who sit second in the league. Arsenal and Gabriel Jesus are flying high at the moment and I only see one winner in this game. The Gunners should continue their solid start to the season.
West Ham vs. Brighton
19th placed West Ham have had a poor start to the season having lost both their games as they take on Brighton who sit eighth in the table and are unbeaten. This is another tough game for the Hammers and if they were to lose there would be early pressure on Moyes to turn things around. Potter is doing extremely well at Brighton and I see them getting a point or more in London.
Newcastle vs. Man City
Fifth placed Newcastle are unbeaten as they take on top of the league Manchester City as the two richest clubs in the league go head to head. The Middle-East derby and City on paper should win this game. It should be slightly tougher and Newcastle could have a chance to get something out of this game but they will have to be clinical and avoid any silly mistakes. One to keep an eye on.
Man United vs. Liverpool
Bottom of the table Manchester United take on 12th placed Liverpool in what is a big game on Monday night. United have lost both their games and Liverpool have drawn both their games. Both teams have not won a game which is contrary to what all the pundits said before the season started. A draw or more would get ten Hag his first points of the season and anything other than a win would be a disastrous start for Jurgen Klopp. Liverpool should win this game and I really can’t see United getting a result. This game should also see some protests from the home fans as Jim Ratcliffe makes his interest in the club public. It is going to be an interesting game for sure.
La Liga MW 2
Sevilla vs. Valladolid
Mallorca vs. Real Betis
Celta Vigo vs. Real Madrid
Atletico Madrid vs. Villarreal
Real Sociedad vs. Barcelona
Villarreal, Atletico, Real Betis, and Real Madrid make up the top four and there are some tough games this weekend. Atletico face a tough game against Villarreal, and Real Sociedad face a tough game against Barcelona. Barcelona are still trying to buy and register players while Aubameyang could also leave among other players. An interesting weekend of Spanish football and I think Real Madrid could pick up another win and move ahead.
Serie A MW 2
Torino vs. Lazio
Inter vs. Spezia
Napoli vs. Monza
Atalanta vs. AC Milan
Roma vs. Cremonese
Sampdoria vs. Juventus
Napoli, Juventus, Milan and Atalanta sit in the top four but the other major teams also won their games last weekend. This should be another weekend of straight forward wins unless one of these teams slip up in their games. Anyone can win Serie A this season and there are several exciting teams and managers. Keep an eye on all the games.
Bundesliga MW 3
Monchengladbach vs. Hertha Berlin
Wolfsburg vs. Schalke
Dortmund vs. Werder Bremen
Leverkusen vs. Hoffenheim
Union Berlin vs. RB Leipzig
Frankfurt vs. Koln
VFL Bochum vs. Bayern Munich
Bayern and Dortmund are level at the top with Monchengladbach and Koln making up the top four. Other teams are either lower in the table or level on points. Unlike Serie A, Bayern Munich will most likely end up winning the league again but the other teams need to stay close to them as much as possible. This should be a straightforward weekend for these teams unless someone slips up.
Ligue 1 MW 3
Lyon vs. Troyes
Monaco vs. Lens
Marseille vs. Nantes
Clermont vs. Nice
Lille vs. PSG
PSG are already two points clear at the top with Marseille, Lille, and Toulouse making up the top four. A massive game this weekend as PSG travel to Lille and if Lille can get a win then it brings PSG back down but if PSG win they go further clear of a challenger. Monaco against Lens is also a tough game while Marseille against Nantes is also tricky. Some interesting fixtures but as always all eyes are on PSG and whether they slip up.
