Before the preview I would like to pay my respects to Diogo Jota and his brother Andre Silva. 28 and 26 is never an age to lose your life. Jota was an exciting player who loved to score goals and a team player as well. He played a major part in Wolves revival and then moved to Liverpool in 2020. Having won the Prem a few months ago followed by the Nations League he then married his partner in what was turning out to be the perfect summer for him. For all of that to just get taken away within a blink of an eye just goes to show that you never know what’s going to happen. My thoughts go out to his family and friends and all fans of the game but especially Liverpool, Wolves, and Porto fans. Life is too short, as someone who overthinks things and misses the moment sometimes it’s another sign to live in the now. You have goals? Go after them, because you don’t know how much time you have left. Spend time with your parents, friends and other loved ones. Finally, just cherish life, Diogo Jota is one thing but once again 300 people have been killed in Gaza over 48 hours and several of them just wanted some food to eat. Once again R.I.P Diogo Jota and Andre Silva, you will forever be remembered by football fans worldwide.
Weekend Football Preview
Club World Cup - Quarter-Finals
Fluminense (Brazil) vs. Al-Hilal (Saudi Arabia)
Palmeiras (Brazil) vs. Chelsea (England)
Paris Saint German (France) vs. Bayern Munich (Germany)
Real Madrid (Spain) vs. Borussia Dortmund (Germany)
We have four great fixtures as quarter-finals for the Club World Cup. Thiago Silva gave a really inspiring speech that helped his team win their last game and he will need to inspire Fluminense to do the same against Al-Hilal. Al-Hilal beat Manchester City and will feel like they can beat Fluminense as well. An evenly matched game.
Another Brazilian team will be in action tomorrow morning as Palmeiras play Chelsea. Chelsea will be without Caicedo and Lavia, while Pedro Neto may or may not feature given Diogo Jota was one of his close friends and he has been hit hard. Chelsea have Andrey Santos though and Noni Madueke along with the arrival of Joao Pedro as well. Chelsea will also come up against Estevao. Estevao is set to join Chelsea after the Club World Cup so this will be a good opportunity to see what he is about. COME ON CHELSEA!!!
PSG against Bayern Munich will be a great game of football between two top teams and any team could end up winning the game. Real Madrid will be slight favourites for their game but Borussia Dortmund should not be taken lightly.
Transfer Gup Shup
Borussia Dortmund put out a statement that Jamie Bynoe Gittens is set to join Chelsea.
20 year old Antoni Milambo has signed for Brentford from Feyenoord.
Wimbledon continues to roll on and there is a great game tonight as Sabalenka takes on Raducanu. With the likes of Gauff, and Paolini out Sabalenka is one of the out and out favourites now. The British GP also takes place this weekend at Silverstone so that should be a fun race.
Have a great weekend everyone!
