Chelsea take on Watford at Stamford Bridge for the final game of the season. It is not yet known whether the owners will be confirmed by then and whether all fans will be allowed back. Watford have already been relegated and are playing for pride. Watford have lost four of their last five and drawn the other.
Chelsea go into this game having secured third after the draw against Leicester. It has been a long and arduous season and many fans, Tuchel, and the players probably want to hit the rest and reboot button after this game. Nothing really at stake in this game but hopefully the team and players that are leaving namely, Rudiger, Christensen, Alonso, maybe Azpilicueta, and a few others can leave on a high. It would also be nice for Boehly to finally see the team win.
Chelsea Team Preview
Kepa should start in goal with a back three of Azpilicueta, Christensen, and Rudiger. James and Kenedy should start as the wing-backs with Saul, and Jorginho in midfield. Mount, Barkley, and Havertz should start up front. There should be some academy players involved in all honesty but that is an unknown at the moment. It is a team filled with players that should be on their way and so hopefully they give it their all and leave on a high.
Watford Team Preview
Foster should start in goal for Watford with a back four of Ngakia, Kabasele, Cathcart, and Masina. Sissoko, Kayembe, and Gosling should start in midfield. Kalu, Pedro, and Sema should start up front. It isn’t a team that instils confidence but they will want to fight for pride.
Starting XI Prediction
Hopefully Chelsea have new owners confirmed and the fans back and the atmosphere is good at the Bridge. It is a farewell game for several of these players and they should go out on a high. One more game, we need to try and win and end this season on a high. COME ON CHELSEA!!!
