Tottenham 1 vs. 0 Burnley
Kane scored a penalty before half time to give Spurs the lead. Tottenham held on to win and get three points. Tottenham move into fourth with the win and go two points clear of Arsenal with a game to go. Burnley drop down to 18th with the loss but have a game in hand a point from safety. Advantage Spurs for top four and Burnley need to win to survive.
Wolverhampton 1 vs. 1 Norwich
Pukki scored in the 37th minute to give Norwich the lead. Ait-Nouri equalised for Wolves in the 55th minute. Neither team could find the winner. Wolves remain eighth and continue their winless streak. Norwich end their losing streak but remain 20th.
West Ham 2 vs. 2 Man City
Bowen scored a double in the first half to give West Ham a shock two goal lead. Grealish equalised for City in the 49th minute and Coufal scored an own goal to equalise for City. Mahrez had a chance to win the game for City late in the game but he missed his penalty. West Ham remain 7th but now only two points behind United as they try and get Europa League football. City remain top of the table but miss a chance to seal the title. City sit four points clear of Liverpool and bar a Southampton miracle the title race will go down to the final day.
Watford 1 vs. 5 Leicester
Pedro scored in the sixth minute to give Watford the lead. The goal only woke Leicester up. Maddison and Vardy scored in the first half to give Leicester the lead. Vardy added another in the second half and Barnes scored two more to seal the win for Leicester. Watford remain 19th with the loss. Leicester move up to 9th with the win and have a game in hand as they look to seal a place in the top 10.
Leeds 1 vs. 1 Brighton
Welbeck scored in the 21st minute to give Brighton the lead. It looked like Leeds were heading for a loss but Struijk equalised for Leeds in the 92nd minute to grab a point for the home team. Leeds move out of the relegation zone and into 17th, a point clear of Burnley. Leeds don’t have a game in hand though. Brighton drop down to 10th in the table with the point.
Aston Villa 1 vs. 1 Crystal Palace
Watkins scored in the 69th minute to give Villa the lead. Schlupp equalised for Palace in the 81st minute. Villa drop down to 14th with the point while Palace drop down to 13th. A nothing game but both teams have a game in hand.
Everton 2 vs. 3 Brentford
Calvert-Lewin scored in the 10th minute to give Everton the lead. Branthwaite got himself sent off for Everton in the 18th minute and it went downhill from there. Coleman scored an own goal in the 37th minute to equalise for Brentford. Richarlison converted a penalty to restore Everton’s lead before half time. Wissa and Henry scored in the second half to seal the win for Brentford. Everton remain 16th in the table two points clear of the relegation zone with a game in hand. Brentford move up to 11th with the win. A missed opportunity for Everton but no time to dwell on it.
Newcastle 2 vs. 0 Arsenal
Ben White scored an own goal in the 55th minute to give Newcastle the lead. Bruno sealed the deal for Newcastle in the 85th minute. Newcastle move up to 12th with the win and Arsenal drop out of top four and two points behind Spurs. Top four is now out of Arsenal’s hands. Four points clear last week and now two points behind.
La Liga MW 37
Real Sociedad beat Villarreal 1-2, Real Madrid drew with Cadiz 1-1, Atletico drew with Sevilla 1-1, Barcelona drew with Getafe 0-0 and Real Betis beat Granada 2-0. Real Madrid rotated their team and the shining light was Eden Hazard who came on in the second half and played like the Hazard of old. Small steps but everyone hopes he can return to the top. It was a joy to watch him. Barcelona were already finished second. Atletico seal a top four finish going four points clear of Betis. Sevilla sit three points clear of Betis in fourth having drawn the last three games. Betis’s win means that their goal difference is the same as Sevilla and they could still finish in the top four on the final day.
Serie A MW 37
Roma drew with Venezia 1-1, Napoli beat Genoa 3-0, Milan beat Atalanta 2-0, Inter beat Cagliari 1-3, and Juventus drew with Lazio 2-2. Milan remain two points clear at the top with Inter right behind them. Napoli seal third while Juventus already sealed fourth a few weeks ago. Lazio seal fifth in the table bar a drastic shift in goal difference. Roma, Fiorentina, and Atalanta are all in the mix for the final places in Europe. The title race and race for Europe will go down to the final day.
Bundesliga MW 34
Dortmund beat Hertha Berlin 2-1, Leipzig drew with Arminia 1-1, Bayern drew with Wolfsburg 2-2, Frankfurt drew with Mainz 2-2, and Leverkusen beat Freiburg 2-1. Bayern, Dortmund, and Leverkusen had already sealed their places going into the final day. Leipzig managed to get fourth while Union Berlin finished fifth and sealed a place in the Europa League. Freiburg finish sixth and get a place in the Europa League while Koln finished seventh and get a place in the Conference League. Bundesliga is over for the season and the season review will come once all the leagues are over.
Ligue 1 MW 37
PSG beat Montpellier 0-4, Rennes beat Marseille 2-0, Lyon beat Nantes 3-2, Monaco beat Brest 4-2, and Lille beat Nice 1-3. The race for the top four will go down to the final day. Monaco move into second level on points with Marseille who sit third. Rennes drop down to fourth but have a strong goal difference. Strasbourg and Nice still have a chance at a place in Europe as well. Big final day next week.
